My passion for engineering lies in my passion for people. I am a disaster engineer with a focus on geohazards, remote sensing, and the building of technical engineering solutions to meet societal challenges -- integrating culture, policy, and the accessibility at the foundation of design. I have a demonstrated history of working in the entrepreneurship and non-profit management industry with a focus on disaster mitigation, water resources engineering, and the management + creation of equitable entrepreneurship tools for at-risk populations. Professional skills and interests include the intersections of engineering and policy, women's and children's rights, grassroot technology and innovation, and education. 2022 Fulbright Research Awardee, Rhodes Graduate Fellow in Interdisciplinary Research Awardee, and co-founder of the National Academy of Engineering’s Call to Action on the COVID-19 Crisis. Co-founded and co-manages a research cohort on geohazard risk and resiliency between Duke and Tribhuvan University in Nepal. Opinions my own.

Graduate Student Affairs Graduate Student LiaisonDuke University Graduate School Aug 2021 - Nov 2023Durham, North Carolina, United StatesI am serving as the representative for the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department for the Graduate Student Affairs Graduate Student Liaison. The GSA graduate student liaisons help The Graduate School strengthen its relationships with graduate departments and programs. The GSA liaisons help accomplish this through efforts such as providing word-of-mouth promotion of Graduate School events and resources, informing the school of student-life and professional-development needs and concerns within their departments, and volunteering for Graduate School events such as orientation, recruitment, appreciation week, and graduation.Students also benefit from their service as GSA liaisons by gaining awareness of resources from The Graduate School and opportunities to shape those resources, getting a chance to develop leadership skills as a student representative for the department, and increasing their visibility for representation on university-wide committees and other opportunities. -
