• Direct daily activities of the Accounts Payable department • Code and entered invoices each day into the in-house accounting software • Consistently maintain a monthly spreadsheet with contractor and vendor payments, including check numbers and dates issued • Confirm that all contractor requirements were met before payment was released • Ensure all vouchers had proper approvals before payment was issued • Process daily check runs as well as EFT payments to all vendors• Serve as the liaison between the corporate and our 28 Regional Offices for Accounts Payable functions • Research and answer questions posed by senior management and the legal department • Process and review month-end closing for all entities• Assist the Finance Director with reconciling accounts payable reporting • Research and reconciled Accounts Payable aging • Reconcile vendor statements and handled payment complaints or discrepancies • Review all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure • Prepare and review 1099 forms, and processed the IRS filing • Collect all reporting and vouchers needed for the year-end and periodic audits• Successfully implemented new technologies and process automation to encourage continuous improvement • Assisted with the development of the companies subcontractor payment summary • Established a payment process for all vendors • Created a monthly calendar to communicate deadlines to our field representatives • Created and managed new subcontractor documentation process, and vendor payment method (EFT) • Assisted in the development and roll out of the new ERP accounting system • Trained users and served as the support of the department during the new implementations
