My peers acknowledge me as a thought leader regarding fraud, compliance, legal risk, and collections operations. I am passionate about learning, being a strategist, problem solver, and provider of information. These skills helped me earn a leadership role on the Lending and Collections Council for Cornerstone Credit Union League.I describe my role as a corporate firefighter or consulting manager, the resource person for all escalations. For example, if we were served legal documents, had an issue that required research, a complexity that others could not solve, or a compliance question, I lead the fact-finding and resolution process. I organically acquired this role based on several skills that come naturally to me: desire to help, appetite for knowledge, ability to research, find solutions, and provide a recommendation.I did not intentionally become a collections manager but instantly succeeded in the fast-paced environment and developed a deep passion for serving others through hardships. I enjoyed working with customers and developing a team, and from there, I began pursuing a job with a credit union where I took on every problem area or project role that I could. I expanded the scope of my responsibilities and developed a robust skillset with a niche in managing people and processes that gave me upward mobility.As a leader, I am a servant coach who sets the pace for my team. I lead by example with high energy and positivity to create an environment focused on data-driven results. I set clear goals and expectations and build relationships to understand what motivates each individual and the whole team to ensure a cohesive and collaborative unit of satisfied employees. I encourage innovation and creative problem-solving, fostering a fail-fast and forward environment where employees feel secure to explore efficiencies and share ideas.
