I work in Citywide Planning focusing on neighborhood and economic development planning.

Work on the legislative, programmatic priorities of Supervisor Ahsha Safai in service of the residents of District 11.

During one year, I rotated through four departments in the City government assisting managers and directors in special projects: City Manager's Office; Development Services; Financial Management;and Tidelands Capital Improvement Division.

I earned a Master's Degree in City Planning with a focus on Economic Development.

As the director I was responsible for assisting the board of directors in charting a vision for the organization and pursuing that vision. That included raising and managing money, hiring, training, and developing staff, planning and executing issue campaigns, recruiting more member congregations, and building strong relationships throughout the community.

- Created Communities United, partnership organization between congregation and neighborhood. - Organized 300-person public meeting to address neighborhood issues.- Developed the Tubman Center's organizer fellowship and recruitment program.

- Aided state-wide coalition efforts to defeat Proposal 2 and preserve affirmative action.- Organized students at the University of Michigan for effective electoral actions.- Successfully educated and informed U of M students, so that 70% of the student body voted No.

- Supported legislative staff.-Completed general office tasks: phones, mail, scheduling, and tours- Updated the website to accurately reflect the Congressman's efforts and progress
