Assisted the CyPRES ERC team of academics with proposal for an engineering research center for wildfires.

Performed technical research and statistical work in relation to Geographic Informations Systems (GIS). Performed research and statistical studies involving various types of spatial data, employing technical standards and methodologies established by the GIS industry and the department. Provided spatial analysis for natural resource management and emergency response planning. Created cartographically accurate map products for intelligence gathering, emergency management and administrative decision making. Created ESRI model builder products to automate repetitive processes. Utilized both Python and Visual Basic scripting to customize ArcGIS. Provided GIS support for region personnel and unit personnel. Created, maintained and updated non-spatial databases for region personnel for various projects. Provided database architectural creation support for development of new programs at the state-wide level. Acquire information for analyst from the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) application and Crystal Reports.Create and/or maintain appropriate database to support Law Enforcement operations. Provide spatial and link analysis for Law Enforcement operations. Create requested map products for intelligence gathering, evidence collection, and interviews as needed. Provide analysis and location verification for acquired cell phone records. Provide analysis of Law Enforcement Global Positioning Unit (GPS) tracking devices as needed. Create map products for Regional Air Space Coordination during high fire activity to disseminate to pilots, airbase personnel, frequency coordinators, and airspace coordinators.

Received and processed reports of emergency incidents via telephone and/or radio, prioritizes emergencies based off of threat to life, property, and the environment with limited supervision from a Fire Captain, while maintaining composure in stressful situations. Determines the appropriate response to the reported emergency utilizing the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System and adapt quickly to a variety of situations altering dispatches when needed. Recall and retain a variety of information quickly while performing several functions simultaneously. Maintains statuses of all resources assigned and unassigned to incidents in both CAD and ROSS (National Resource Order and Status System). Produces a daily report of available resources and personnel in the unit available for dispatch. Produce daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly Crystal Reports for dissemination, reporting, and analysis. Updates the daily weather observations utilizing the WIMS (Weather Information Management System) and pulls current NFDRS (National Fire Danger Rating System) outputs to set dispatch levels during fire season. Requests, dispatches, and tracks aircraft according to national protocols and department policy and procedures, utilizing Automated Flight Following (AFF) program and the Statewide Intercom System. Was the primary CAD administrator for the Shasta Trinity Unit and Shasta County fire. Maintained and updated multiple GIS layers directly and indirectly connected to CAD system. Compiled statistical data from CAD and GIS analysis. Coordinated the collection and dissemination of vital CAD and GIS data throughout the county. Provided QA and QC to all data sets. Presented GIS solutions to small groups and one-on-one sessions about possible GIS solutions to problems.
