I enjoy work that provides variety as I am quick, resourceful and can turn my attention to manage many tasks.I’ve recently joined Purcom a procurement specialist company where we assist clients at all stages of the procurement journey. Gathering insights for companies, identifying and designing procurement solutions that could help them, implementing procurement strategies and supplier relationship management. It’s early days (joined Sept 2018), but I’m looking forward to meeting and helping our clients.My background is in construction, I was sponsored through university and worked for 9 years post university with Skanska, a large main contractor. I worked in a variety of sectors and countries during my time there.More recently I worked within the public sector for Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust for 7 years. Working on complex OJEU framework contracts delivering decent homes works.Outside of work I volunteer for two organisations that are linked by my passion for helping the community. I do this by regularly visiting my local care home with my black Labrador Forest as a Pets as Therapy dog handler (volunteer) and also helping run “Songs & Smiles” for the together project, weekly sessions at care homes, where everyone sings together.     Worked with a leading social housing provider to deliver 108 affordable homes. Led this prestigious first residential project for Skanska, through the planning and design phase, onto site. The project was a mixture of traditional and modern methods of construction. Managing a team of 12 people, working with a variety of sub-contractors, both on frameworks and traditionally tendered. Managing a very tight programme and budget. Good record with Considerate Contractors Scheme quoted in last report as “the team can feel proud to be part of such a project.”

    Part of the core team, responsible for developing and launching a Swedish form of housing in the UK. Spent six months in Sweden; key in transferring the knowledge from Sweden to the UK, knowledge transfer included organising workshops, 1 to 1 sessions, leading meetings and on one occasion presenting to 600 senior global managers. Project Managed a full-scale mock-up, to identify areas of improvement, lead the continuous improvement cycle. Key part in winning several frameworks as well as the project that I went onto lead on site. Put together feasibility studies for potential projects, including costs, programme and concept design. Gained an excellent understanding of the work involved in winning and negotiating work, and working with different nationalities and cultures.

As part of the project the whole of MOD Whitehall had to be decanted to various smaller buildings throughout the city, working as part of a team to ensure the clients high security and operational requirements are maintained throughout the decanting.
