National nonprofit focused on supporting Military and Veteran Caregivers• Tapped by Leadership to take on additional oversight of the Foundation’s Direct Support Programs: Respite Relief and Financial Wellness. Supervise 2 staff members, including a Data Manager. Oversee adoption of agency wide KPIs and the creation of data management dashboards in Salesforce.• Helped secure Foundation’s largest gift on record: $5M from the Diana Davis Spencer Foundation• Successfully established the Campaign for Inclusive Care, a joint initiative with Veteran’s Affairs (VA) to implement a system-wide approach to caregiver inclusion. • Wrote proposal for (and received) the initial $750K grant from USAA. -Designed program to include formative research from Duke University and UT Health San Antonio with the ambitious goal of creating systemic change within the VA, the largest integrated healthcare provider in the US. (Published articles in peer-reviewed journals included below.) -Led development of a 4-part curriculum (Academy for Inclusive Care) on how medical staff can practice inclusive care. The course is nationally accessible, is hosted on TRAIN and through the VA’s online LMS. Selected as first paid Executive Director since Foundation was established in 2006.• Reorganized operations, streamlined functions, implemented QuickBooks and helped auditor rework financial policies. Implemented new payroll system at net cost savings, wrote/updated HR & Board manuals.• Ensured compliance with NYS Charity Regulations, improved non-event fundraising by redesigning website and e-newsletters, increasing brand awareness (improved metrics for all social media).• Partnered with BOD and 1 program manager to set strategic agenda for growth; increased annual budget (was $250K) by recruiting pro bono strategic consultants to develop a 3-year strategic plan.

International women's advocacy group• Secured support for advocacy and research efforts by researching, identifying, and cultivating prospects, writing and editing proposals and reports, and preparing budgets. Agency’s overall budget was $6M, of which nearly 40% was raised from institutional sources (government and foundations).• Met with international funders / governments (e.g., United Kingdom) and foundations (e.g., Oak Foundation).

• Helped organization reach annual fundraising goal of $2.5M (25% of overall development goal).• Exceeded goal by 8% in 2008, with $600K in new foundation gifts. (100+ proposals were submitted.)

• Managed a $3M US Department of Labor grant that sought to increase the skill levels of high-tech employees in the I-84 Knowledge Corridor. Collaborated with DOL Federal Project Officer, wrote, and submitted quarterly reports, managed all subcontractors / evaluated progress toward stated goals and objectives. • Started a free women’s clothing boutique in downtown Waterbury for women on welfare returning to work by securing a grant from the Community Foundation of Waterbury.
