Rachael Lincoln has been making physical dance theater since 1997. She was cited by Dance View Times as a “fresh, literate director with a mastery of dramatic timing.” Her work has been presented internationally, in venues including the Sophiensaele Theater in Berlin, Theater Artaud in San Francisco, UCLA, Middlebury College, The University of Arizona, The Dublin Fringe Festival, The Bytom Dance Festival in Poland, Almada, Portugal and The Indonesian Dance Festival. She has been supported by The Zellerbach Family Fund, The California Wellness Foundation, Dancers’ Group Wyoming and is a recipient of the CASH grant. She holds an MFA in choreography from UCLA, has taught master classes in release technique and Contact Improvisation throughout Europe and the US. With her company, Lean-to Productions, (founded with co-director Leslie Seiters in 2006) she is currently touring the critically acclaimed duet “an attic an exit” and building a new evening-length duet "People Like You". Lincoln has been commissioned to make new work by Flyaway Productions, Tanztage Festival in Berlin, and Contemporary Dance Wyoming. Her work has been nominated for two Isadora Duncan Awards, Best Ensemble Performance in 2006 and Best Choreography in 2009. In addition to her own work, she has been a member of The Joe Goode Performance Group and has danced with Jo Kreiter Flyaway Productions, Kathleen Hermesdorf, Kim Epifano and Scott Wells and Dancers in San Francisco and with wee dance company, Sommer Ulrickson and Jess Curtis in Europe. She is the Assistant Artistic Director of Bandaloop.
