My duties include working with pre and post litigated cases, dealing with individual fee earner tasks such as instructing counsel, reviewing files and negotiating settlements.

My duties included presenting a professional image towards all people who contact the firm, along with excellent communication skills effectively and professionally answering the telephone and dealing with any enquiries which arise.Other duties included archiving paper files and coordinating the off site filing system, processing out-going and in-coming post and typing letters which are often of a confidential and sensitive nature.

Work experience placement at the University of Central Lancashire. My caseload has involved a family dispute matter and a complicated Sale of Goods matter. In advising the client, effective and comprehensive documentation review is conducted, identifying possible legal avenues to explore.

I previously worked in a award winning Fish and Chips Shop in Blackburn, Lancashire.Primarily my role was to serve customers quickly but maintaining optimum customer service. It is from this role that I aspire to translate my customer service values to a role within the law.

Through my time at Redlam Surgery I have gained valuable experience working with patients, helping them to book appointments and helping as far as I can, with any problems they have.I worked with the administration team, doing tasks such as photocopying, taking phone calls, copying notes for outside agencies and inputting data from the hospital letters. Shadowing the full-time members of staff, I gained valuable experience of the position of Legal Clerk within a Magistrate Court. My experiences gained included; Sitting in Court and taking notes; viewing and organising legal documentation; networking with Magistrates and Legal Clerks
