I know that excellent leadership and governance in the for-purpose sector are not negotiable in terms of how we look to solve complex social and environmental challenges. We at People for Purpose exists to ensure Australian charities have the very best executive and non-executive talent. We have the time and expertise that you don't have to ensure the board members and executives you attract are the best, bringing alignment to purpose, skills and experience and diversity. I co-founded People for Purpose with Melissa Macpherson in 2012 to support Australian charities with access to smart, authentic leaders in both executive and non-executive roles. I am also committed to supporting other 'corporate refugees' like me who are looking to use their commercial skills to ensure they leave this world a better place. I am lucky to have worked with some of the most recognisable organisations in the for-purpose and sector including Greenpeace, The Paul Ramsay Foundation and The Smith Family. I have worked with their Chairs, Boards and Executive Teams to ensure they are clear on purpose and impact and lead and govern well. I understand the complexity of the for purpose sector through lived experience. I've fundraised, led, governed, advocated and studied in the charity sector both here and abroad. I was founding CEO of Australian Philanthropic Services (APS), working with the high net worth and advisory communities to help build a culture of giving in Australia. I learnt an enormous amount reporting to a passionate, focussed, high profile board. I made a conscious move into the not-for-profit sector in 2004 and am committed to sharing my journey with others wishing to work in a way that is closely aligned to personal purpose. I've been inspired by (and continue to be inspired by) many people, in particular, my mum who was raised by the Salvation Army. I speak publically from time to time, most recently with McKinsey's Executive Leadership Program, the Austalian Institute of Company Directors Boards Seeking Directors Event and the 2019 Fundraising Institute of Australias Conference. I spent 3 years on the board of the National Centre for Childhood Grief and now serve as an Ambassador. I am proud to support Generation Australia as an Advisory Committee Member, Young Change Agents as a Social Entrepreuner Judge and Ronald McDonald House as a volunteer cook. I live in Sydney with my husband and 3 adorable, but exhausting children.

Non Executive DirectorMenzies Foundation May 2023 - PresentSouth Melbourne, Victoria, AuThe Menzies Foundation aspires to raise the profile and importance of ‘outstanding’ leadership to encourage Australians to reflect on leadership, build their own leadership capability and contribute to the greater good.Building on Sir Robert Menzies legacy, and In accordance with the Foundations catalytic model of philanthropy, we aspire to build platforms that model the importance of a purpose-led orientation, are entrepreneurial and adaptive, undaunted by complexity and focused on a more thoughtful, deeper interrogation of what it means to be a leader in the world today.Given my interest in, and commitment to leadership for the greater good, this is an awesome opportunity to contribute to the for-purpose sector. -
Advisory Council MemberRaise Foundation Oct 2022 - PresentSydney, New South Wales, AuRaise matches young people with trained and trusted mentors who support them to get through challenges, increase their wellbeing and shape a purposeful life. I have 2 teenagers, so this really resonates with me. At the start of the program the common issues young people report in their pre-program survey are: anxiety, bullying, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm discrimination, disordered eating. By the end of the program, 74% of our mentees told us that the program helped them cope with these issues.Raise are awesome. Making a real difference to the lives of young Australians. -
Advisory Board MemberGeneration Australia Apr 2020 - Apr 2023Sydney , New South Wales, AuFounded in 2014, Generation Australia was created to transform education to employment systems to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible. After an incredible successful pilot program, Generation Australia has supported over 1000 people to upskill, 80% of whom were employed within 180 days - how insane is that! This is systemic change and I was excited to have been part of their establishment and growth. What I love is that Generation supports the unemployed and underemployed to learn new skills - and then connects them to an actual job. Generation Australia solves a wide range of employer challenges—skilled talent shortages, lackluster on-the-job performance, reskilling needs, and higher turnover in important roles—with our unique approach and our determined graduates. -
