As an Internship Enthusiast, I facilitated university-wide conversations, bringing faculty and staff together to identify internship needs and create a best practices resource hub for further collaboration. This included the creation of an Internship Advisory Council, Student Experiential Learning Guides for each college, and a Department/Employer Internship Guide.I also collaborated with departments such as the First Gen & Transfer Student Center, Leadership & Volunteer Services, Global Initiatives, the Najim Center, and the College of Business to provide customized internship workshops and support for students.During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spear headed the creation of virtual internship resources for students, faculty, and staff and redesigned classes, workshops, events, and trainings for the virtual setting, utilizing Zoom breakout rooms, whiteboards, interactive polls, Kahoot, & more to engage students and collaborate with partners.

With this promotion, I led the Career Center Experiential learning team in developing, coordinating, and implementing innovative events & workshops to engage students in experiential learning opportunities. This included internship support for students, faculty/staff, and employers through individual and group training sessions. I also designed creative and robust program resources to include event marketing materials, flyers, and website content.I absolutely loved facilitating an interactive Career Planning course, as well as professional development workshops for students and staff around team building and creating problem solving.

When I first joined UTSA, I assisted students in securing, preparing for, and successfully participating in internships. This included one-on-one resume and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, and internship preparation workshops and events. I coached employers on creating and implementing quality internship and externship programs. To further support student's career discovery and development, I facilitated a Personal Career Planning Course for freshman to senior students.

As Program Director, I managed 2+ independent living programs for youth in foster care to include budget administration, operations, contract compliance, staff development, curriculum review, and state-wide life skills facilitator trainings. One of my favorite programs was a Leadership Camp that I developed for young adults in foster care. As the Camp Director, I lead the statewide coordination and implementation of the camp to include all curriculum creation, staffing, travel arrangements, and risk management protocol. Since training and development was a strength of mine, I facilitated regularly staff and intern trainings for my division and motivated staff and interns through collaborative program planning and implementation.In addition to leading multiple programs, I facilitated Life Skills training for youth in foster care and the juvenile justice system where I spent a lot of time in the community building relationships, identifying resources, and participating in local coalitions and national conferences.
