As a Design Specialist, I am responsible for managing the refurbishment of available real estate for resale across 15 properties while managing construction documents and ensuring that building plans are accurate. I also assist with model merchandising and ensure that major renovation and construction projects are completed on time and under budget. As Transition Manager, I coach and mentor a team of 15 Transition Specialists, ensuring that each of our new members experience the SLC standard during their entire occupancy period at our communities.

While here, I was responsible for the planning, budgeting, designing, and installation of 50+ models for prominent home builders across the country. I also assisted with selecting finishes and fixtures for both residential and public spaces. In a team based, open door, open communication style office, I have been able to improve my leadership skills and ability to produce organized, quality, budget conscious models.

While here, I worked closely with home builders and design center managers across the country, space planning and designing model homes and public spaces based on the consumers of that area. Beginning with a concept call, I was responsible for understanding our client’s needs, designing an approved presentation, ordering, and installing all aspects of the space. I responded to daily inquiries from sales reps, retailers, and customer service agents. As a designer, I was accountable for the tracking and receipt of all items for the model, installing them in a timely manner, and generating and maintaining expense reports. When our department was laid off in January 2016, I was one of two designers asked to remain on staff to manage and complete outstanding projects. Once all projects were completed, I assisted my manager in developing her own merchandising firm.

While employed by Turner’s, I assisted clients with high end furniture and finish selections, managed special orders, organized house calls to assist clients with all aspects of interior design, provided customer service, attended an extensive furniture training courses, and assisted with maintaining the showrooms to increase profitability.

I maintained the portrait studio, photography rooms, and photography lab equipment. I trained new employees, assisted customers in portrait and portrait product selections, photographed clients, rang in sales through a POS system, provided excellent customer service, acted as team leader and motivator, and increased monthly sales for our store. Within my first 30 days of employment, I was selected to enroll in the “Management Fast Track” program.

I designed and maintained the shop, ordered all merchandise, managed financial reports and inventory, trained all employees and volunteers, managed all advertisement and promotions, attended Atlanta Market for new merchandise, created and constructed all displays, and provided customer service. This location is a sister store of the gift shop at South Georgia Medical Center. I worked at both locations simultaneously.

I maintained the store's overall appearance and displays to promote sales. I ordered merchandise as needed and attended Atlanta Market to connect with sales reps, create new accounts, and purchase new merchandise. I managed special orders in the shop, trained employees and volunteers, maintained social media and advertising, and scheduled special sale events. I provided customer service and created lasting relationships with clients and hospital staff. In February of 2013, I was offered a second location that opened in March 2013. I managed both locations simultaneously.

While working alongside Celine, I was able to learn the inner workings of the construction process from start to finish while assisting with multiple historic preservation projects. Being able to be apart of the design, bidding, managing, and sourcing phases of these projects has been monumental in my design career and my appreciation of our rich history as told through architecture.
