Rachael Shafer is pursuing a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Northwestern College, Iowa. In her future practice, she will strive to offer preventative healthcare to individuals of all demographics.Rachael graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Telemetry Technician while attending school. These experiences helped her to solidify her desire to pursue the Physician Assistant profession by reaffirming her passion for becoming an integral part of an individual’s healthcare team. During this time, she also participated in campus organizations and genetic research that involved aiding individuals with cancer. These opportunities influenced her interest in the oncology specialty. Rachael is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Iowa Physician Assistant Society.
