I am a descendant of the Tainui Waka and of Waikato-Maniapoto iwi. At Maori and Pasifika Support Services (MAPSS) we focus on the intersection between indigenous people’s and improving social outcomes. I am a former academic of the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Education; Education Manager of the Auckland South Corrections Facility, and a former Secondary School Teacher.I am motivated to find ways to reduce issues of Māori and Pasifika poverty, under achievement, child welfare and imprisonment.
