(I have even given my own TEDx talk.)My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion and a belief in self-awareness. I am known for (gently!) asking thought-provoking questions that help you clarify your ideas and get to know yourself, making you a better leader and communicator. Informed by a range of strategic frameworks and somatic practices, my methods equip you to organise your thinking and build your unique stage presence.My specialist topics include: - Engineering & infrastructure- Chronic pain & public health- Social enterprise - Gender & sexualityThe impulse to become a speaker coach came when I was working as an engineer in Perth, Western Australia. I saw so many great ideas fade away simply because the speakers didn't have the skills to put themselves in the shoes of their audience. My initial speaker coaching clients were often engineers, scientists and other technical professionals.While practicing as a speaker coach, I worked in social innovation, co-founded a social enterprise that became nationally recognised for improving the lives of people with pain and completed postgrad sexology study. I also held roles in public infrastructure and policy. This in-depth knowledge means I contribute more specialist guidance in addition to your speaking skills. My work is also profoundly influenced by decades of training in physical theatre, movement and contemplation. I believe the body is a crucial part of communication and it's important to take space to reflect in order to find our way in the world. In addition to coaching, I offer facilitation and event moderation, along with strategic support to ignite social innovation projects.
