😊I've been working in law for 20 years, a fact that makes me feel both old and proud! I've been around the block a bit and have worked in-house and in private practice doing all sorts of legal work.😥In 2018 I wanted to quit law. 14 years of almost exclusively contentious work had got to me and I needed a break. I took a big step back and repurposed myself as a commercial lawyer. 😖Jumping from contentious work to non-contentious work seemed impossible - I didn't really see anyone doing this in my immediate network and I had no examples to follow. I remember being made to feel like it was a stupid idea and that I was silly to think I would be able to do it. 😁What I didn't realise in 2018 is that I already had so many of the professional skills I needed and I definitely had the personal skills needed - life is now much happier on the other side and I am a better lawyer because I paused and thought about the future.🥰 My day to day work life involves me advising on all sorts of commercial contracting arrangements and helping my clients achieve their aims and exceed their targets.✔I believe that lawyers should be enablers for business growth. The old fashioned idea of lawyers being blockers to business needs to get in the bin - I've no time for that and I don't think client's should put up with that. You deserve more.❤I am a proud geordie, proud mam and proud cat lady 😽🙋🏼♀️If you want to chat about what I do, or tell me about your business and explore how we might be able to work together, drop me a line! I'd love to hear from you.
