I fell into Human Resources in 2015 when I found myself graduating from college without a plan for the future. After discussing the situation with a mentor of mine, he suggested HR and helped me secure an interview for a Graduate Assistant role at Eastern Michigan University in the Management Department.From there came an internship that turned into a full-time role with Wade Trim, a civil engineering firm based in Detroit, MI. I owe much of my understanding of HR to my supervisor during my tenure at Wade Trim. From employee relations to developing programs, I had my hands in everything. It was such a valuable experience to be able to work on many areas of HR. In 2019, I moved to West Michigan to take a role at Blackmer Pump (now PSG). I had suspected that I wanted to work in manufacturing since I started studying HR and my time at Blackmer confirmed it. I loved working in a Union setting with tight deadlines and a mix of professional and skilled labor. My main focuses in this role were labor relations and managing an aging workforce. 2020 brought a new role at Steelcase supporting Operations in the Kentwood Steel Plant and Kentwood Seating Plant. During the extremely volatile years of Covid-19, I managed the movement of employees between plants, redesigned and executed the hiring and onboarding process and created the Covid-19 response plan for Operations. In 2023, I made a move to GE Aerospace, once again supporting a Union workforce. This current role focuses on labor relations including negotiating a new contract in December 2024. When I'm not at work, you can catch me on the soccer field playing or officiating a game. Whether it's a co-ed U9 or a semi-professional match, I enjoy being a part of the beautiful game of soccer. I am also a dog lover, avid reader, and amateur coffee connoisseur (meaning I own a pourover AND a French press).
