About Rachel Bardsley

I grew up on the Space Coast in Florida, with a family very much involved in the Space Program, something that inspired me to go down the path of a STEM career. In high school I was involved with FIRST Robotics so heavily that I was voted "Most Likely to Invent Something!" For my education I elected to stay close to home by attending UCF for both Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. I couldn't decide what degree I was more interested in pursuing so I decided to dual major. I later chose to expand my knowledge into a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, where I focused my additional classes on the study of materials out of an interest in the subject. In late 2020, I was given the opportunity to join NASA's Marshall Spaceflight Center as a Materials Engineer working with Additive Manufacturing of metallic materials, which was an absolute dream. Now, I take every day as a chance to grow and improve myself. Learning never ends after all!
