Originally joining the company as a Door Host in 2012, I have progressed through departments and become a Shift Leader for the waiting staff. This role holds the responsibility of ensuring a smooth and successful shift, and requires me to lead a team of up to ten people on a daily basis. Teamwork and communication are essential for developing and maintaining strong working relationships; enhancing overall productivity and adhering to strict company standards. On several occasions I have been entrusted with the task of training new members of staff, in both the Door and Waiting departments.Although TGI Friday's is already a well-established global company with a strong identity, it has gone through a few different rebranding phases over the past five years of my employment. Each of these presented its own list of challenges and exciting opportunities for staff involvement. After the refurbishment of my Solihull store, I worked alongside managers to develop ideas for local advertising and in-store promotions and publicity. This gave me the opportunity to use the skills learnt from my degree in a working environment, and were greatly appreciated by my superiors.

As a member of my universities LGBTQ Society, I was involved in the online mentoring and welcoming of new students. During this time I was able to help a wide variety of people who needed guidance and support not only with their sexuality, but also with the everyday pressures of university life. This was highly rewarding and satisfying, allowing me to build new friendships and perspectives.
