I will be teaching a new LIS690 Special Topics course that I am developing: Disability & Access in Libraries. The goal of this course is to introduce disability, accessibility, and inclusion in libraries. This course will focus on instruction about and research into the design, development, delivery, and integration of information services, resources, technologies, and outreach that serve diverse and often underserved populations. Research trends and practical design considerations (e.g., web accessibility requirements) will be covered.

My position as Public Services Manager at the UK Science & Engineering Library includes:• Public Service: I assist with information literacy activities, reference, patron mediation, social media, marketing, and outreach support.• Student Supervision: I supervise 13 student workers which includes recruiting, posting openings, hiring, training and scheduling student assistants, as well as identifying and assigning student work duties.• Circulation: I handle reserves, interlibrary loans and book express, as well as stacks maintenance.• Collections: I am responsible for serials barcoding, preservation of materials, updating bibliographic holdings, managing collection shifts and storage projects, and collection inventories.• Library administration and facility management: I am responsible for payroll, supply orders, statistical reports, door counts, and I respond to email requests. I am the contact person for facility issues and I work with the head librarian to identify solutions.

• Student Supervision: Interview, hire, schedule, train, and evaluate a large staff of student workers.• Circulation & Public Services: use and demonstrate circulation module and library web page; assist with information literacy.• Payroll and Budget.• Marketing and Public Relations Committee Chair: promote library services and resources through social media, website, and create promotional materials.• Collections: prepare new books for shelving; verify cataloging records; create lobby displays; notify selectors. • Facility Management: troubleshoot, operate and report maintenance needs of library equipment.• Process all Faculty Reserves• Manage Room Reservations (18 rooms total)
