I attended an 8-week workshop internship that provided the skills necessary for gallery management. The workshop included how to write grant proposals, sponsor letters, press releases, and skills to manage a non-profit organization. After the workshop I interned for Natalie Nelson, the director of the Pence Gallery, as an unpaid intern for six hours a week. This internship consisted of implementing the skills I gained in the 8-week workshop. I also assisted with art handling, exhibit preparation, flyers for upcoming events, scheduling studio visits, and researching and writing biographies of artist for upcoming exhibitions.

Studio assistant work in ceramics involved daily maintenance of the studio and keeping supplies in stock such as glazes and reclaimed clay. The work study also included setting up for gallery exhibitions.

Brentwood

At Liberty High School I took up an Internship, along with a team of several other students, for my senior art project. We collaborated in painting an eighty-foot tunnel to bring light to an area of the city that was victim to vandalism and assaults. The project consisted of creating a presentation to present to the Chambers of Commerce in Brentwood which included a model, budget, storage, and a deadline. After we were successfully commissioned, we spent ten to thirty hours a week painting the mural. Through this experience I learned how to successfully collaborate with a team and take on a series of tasks with several deadlines over an extended period of time.
