As my resume indicates, my background includes various early child education experiences. As a part-time extended care worker at Faith Luteran Preschool, Lamplighter Montessori School, and through the YMCA, I manage the classrooms of many ages from 18-months to 15 years old. In addition, I also became a substitute at both schools and developed a fine sense of understanding and partnership with all these children and each of their families. Through the YMCA, I have met and worked with many communities across the greater Memphis area as well. Furthermore, working in this position at several schools within the city has developed my upmost gratitude and respect for the families. While interning through the Methodist Le Bonheur Community Outreach under several Early Intervention Specialists, I acquired an additional understanding of child development therapy and its role in observation and guidance of families to molding our future generations. From this internship, I have recognized the dedication EI’s have toward the quality of patients’ service and the empowerment early intervention builds together alongside individuals with IDD. To continue the progression of my education in early childhood, I have taken several courses that focused on Child Development and Family Studies in order to complete my Bachelors of Professional Studies. My commitment to volunteering at the annual Collierville Balloon Festival has provided the grandest opportunity to serve the greater Memphis community with special needs. I believe that with my education and experience in early childhood, you will find my commitment to heartfelt service, integrity, and teamwork to be valuable to the overall mission of home and community service.
