Animal care worker (specialism: primates) and freelance writer. My academic background includes a BSc in Biology from Cardiff University, and an MA in Travel and Nature Writing from Bath Spa University.I have worked in an animal rescue centre for over 14 years, with primates given a chance to live as part of a troop following their rescue from former lives in the pet trade and laboratory environments. I have a diverse range of experience from working in a scientific field centre in Sabah, Malaysia, and animal rescue centres in Indonesia and Peru. I also have experience in fieldwork and environmental education in Madagascar with the NGO SEED (formerly Azafady).I am skilled in writing features, creative non-fiction, short stories and website content. I have been published in print and online and am open to new writing opportunities. I am also a trustee for Neotropical Primate Conservation, who work to protect tropical forests in South America.Since 2008 I served as a member of staff with the RAF Air Cadets in both civilian and Commissioned roles, helping young people learn leadership and teamwork skills, mentoring them through the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and teaching adventure training and life skills.
