I am a Storyteller, Writer, Educator, Theatre-maker and Creative Problem-Solver. Stories are everywhere, and each story calls for its own form. It could be a short comedy film about a bumbling actress, a sensual, interactive online dinner or a ensemble-created script adapted from a Greek tragedy, tackling gentrification in our American cities.I work by a method called devising, which starts with research, observation and interviews. I translate raw data and raw human experiences into carefully crafted communication pieces, honed by design thinking and audience testing. My process results in unique, truthful dialogs and stories, tackling complex themes and social issues with grace and humor. As an educator, I consider both what needs to be created and how it needs to be delivered to educate, affect and move an audience. I'm a natural born leader, but I'm no guru, auteur or top-down bossy-boss. I'm a curious, questioning, collaborative leader who challenges teams to be audacious, innovative, generous and truthful. If I'm not the project lead, I easily switch hit into a collaborator and team-player. Regardless of how I'm contributing to group success, I believe that laughter, listening and joy are essential to spark creativity.My work has addressed climate change, sexual abuse, bullying, divorce, race, immigration, gentrification, gender inequality and menstrual stigma.
