Selected from a competitive applicant pool to research patterns of a resurgence in domestic political violence due to the January 6, 2021, Capitol Insurrection using Microsoft Office, LexisNexis, and CourtListener in order to identify working solutions in research methods and public policy. As the sole summer intern for the corporate legal department, I learned about corporate law, employment law, and immigration law through shadowing and hands-on projects. I received formal business training on legal operations, participated in weekly staff meetings, and met with company executives. With this knowledge, I researched laws at the state and local levels to update company compliance and support existing projects. Chosen as a Corps Member alongside 99 others (18-29 yrs old) in a stipended summer volunteer fellowship program across 10 cities nationwide. For 32 hours per week over 4 weeks, Corps Members engaged in virtual and in-person volunteering as well as were trained by national leaders in their field. The team to researched and interviewed organizations that had running delivery systems and developed a business proposal and transition document for the TND delivery system.
