As a healthcare communications leader with 20+ years of experience, I have conquered every communications function and worked with brilliant scientists, C-suite executives, experienced marketers, and many others at innovative companies. However, one thing has remained consistent--my passion for creating integrated programs at the intersection of communications and advocacy to influence change. My career in biopharma communications began at an agency, where I was tasked with supporting both a canned goods company and a clinical trial for a pharmaceutical company. My path forward became clear when I realized the impact on the clinical trial had on patients. Seeing my sister beat cancer, thanks to life-saving treatments, only solidified my passion for the industry. As a solutions-oriented problem-solver, I am not afraid to roll up my sleeves and hit the ground running. This approach has led me to my current role as a Communications Consultant for a rare disease company preparing to launch its first medicine for a patient community who has no treatment options. My expertise lies in generating visibility and excitement for companies and products across a range of therapeutic areas with a focus on rare diseases. At my core, I am a relationship-builder and have excelled in bringing communities together around a common cause. As a result, I have built a name for myself as a trusted communications advisor. A few of my top career moments include: • Developed a multi-channel communications program to launch the only FDA-approved drug for Parkinson's psychosis.• Collaborated on a Parkinson's Disease community survey, leading to a media campaign and the publication of a peer-reviewed article. • Created an Advisory Board to bring together advocacy organizations in the rare epilepsy space.• Launched a program with the BMS Patient Advocacy team to create SOPs for engaging with patient advocacy communities in early R&D. • Secured awards and speaking engagements for BMS leadership and facilitated coverage in publications like The Wall Street Journal.Other core skills include:• Corporate and financial communications • Media and social media strategy• Consumer and HCP education• Issues management• Internal communications and employee engagement• Product, value/access and brand communicationsEvery morning I wake up driven to do work that truly makes a difference. I've always followed my passion for work that I genuinely believe in. The result has been a career I love, telling the stories of scientific discoveries that will change patients' lives.
