After receiving my degree in Marketing at Curtin University, I began my career in the Marketing profession within Australia and now have successfully achieved a long time goal of owning my own business in New Zealand. I have always been interested in marketing/advertising/promotions and events as well as a great zeal for understanding the way people work, what are their drives and motives as well as the over all concept of interaction between people. Because of this I have studied not only marketing but sociology and anthropology as well. The process of a person going through the purchase decision to me if one of the most important elements of running a business. Being able to understand and work the 5 steps (problem recognition, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase decision, and post-purchase behaviour) in favour of your product is key. Also understanding the way your consumer searches for your product is essential. To do this you must really understand people and how they work which is where my education in sociology and psychology play an important role. If not just important, I believe marketing segmentation is a main factor when selling a product as well. To understand people we must understand their background and preforming marketing segmentation helps us do just that. By understanding who your target market is you are able to advertise your product in a way that appeals to them more. Also marketing segmentation can help you find your target market so that you do not waste time on advertising to a general market with consumers who will not buy or are not interested in the product. I work to use these valuable skills and knowledge in the business world to successfully plan, organize and sell any product, service or event I may be faced with. With my natural interest and love of people, outgoing and sociable attitude as well as knowledge and experience gained, these factors are what have made me successful in the business world today.
