o Managed a small rural family medicine clinic owned by the town of Wagener, SC, and started as the sole medical provider for the practice. This clinic is the only healthcare facility for 20 miles in any direction, a literal lifeline for this population. o Grew the practice from 800 patients to over 2,000 patients. Recruited and hired an additional nurse practitioner, clinical staff, and billing staff to meet patient demand. o Supervised and managed another nurse practitioner, LPN, medical assistant, secretary, and billing specialist staff. o Oversaw all medical, financial, and executive operations of the clinic. Managed and balanced $400,000 annual budget.o Represented and advocated for the clinic in monthly meetings with the mayor and town council. o Provided high quality healthcare to patients of all ages with both acute and chronic illnesses. o Advanced clinical skills in complex chronic disease management such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, congestive heart failure, chronic lung disease, hypothyroidism. o Formed complex plans of care for the unique health promotion needs of older adults. o Provided culturally sensitive family-centered care to patients of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. o Directed COVID pandemic clinic operations. o 32-bed inpatient pediatric unit that includes a 3-bed step-down unit. Cared for newborn patients to those 18 years of age admitted under a wide variety of services including epilepsy, neurology, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, gastrointestinal, plastics, orthopedics and surgery. o Promoted family-centered care using evidence-based practice and worked with a large interdisciplinary team including child life services to provide an optimal healing environment for pediatric patients.
