Key responsibilities included: - Measure, analyze, and understand complex business issues - Research of goods and services needed within the energy commodities and energy delivery scopes. - Work with cross-functional teams in the development, review, and issue of requests for information (RFI) and requests for quote (RFQ), analyze proposals, negotiate and structure contracts, and create purchase orders. - Gather data and conduct analysis to determine demand for materials and services - Structure RFQs and unbundle proposal costs in order to understand total cost of ownership (TCO) - Coordinate development of material, equipment, and service specifications to be included in procurement/sourcing RFQs. - Assure purchased goods and services are obtained on a timely basis at lowest TCO to Ameren. - Negotiate with suppliers and contractors maximizing the value to Ameren. - Assist engineering, operations, and corporate services organizations in selection of materials and services, keeping them advised of new developments as appropriate. During my time in the Strategic Sourcing group, I obtained a thorough understanding of purchasing, accounts payable, research, negotiation, work management and financial systems applications. I designed many request for proposals and proved my ability to negotiate contracts and achieve results while effectively managing the associated change and measure, analyze, (e.g., TCO, NPV, cost price analysis) and understand complex business issues required.
