Studying biochemistry with a minor in Global Health at UCLA has allowed me to become well-rounded and knowledgable in a range of subjects. I value making meaningful connections with others and being of service to my community. My love for working with other people began by working as a Crew Member at Trader Joe's, where I honed my teamwork and customer service skills. As someone who has learned the importance of self care and confidence as a college student, I am an avid advocate for mental health and believe that it is crucial to have open and honest conversations pertaining to well-being. My passion for mental health and building deeper connections with others also inspired me to become both a Crisis Text Hotline counselor and nationally certified EMT.Before transferring to UCLA, I was a mathematics tutor at my community college, adeptly transitioning to online platforms to ensure continuous learning during the pandemic. Additionally, I worked with a non-profit known as PreMedCC which provided pre-health students, especially those with academically disadvantaged backgrounds, with resources to help them continue working towards their academic and career goals even in a pandemic. As the president of this organization, I gained invaluable leadership skills, displayed my commitment to education, and demonstrated my ability to adapt to diverse learning environments. I am eager to contribute my knowledge, values, and communication skills to future teams, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere in whatever work environment I get to be a part of.
