PGDE Primary student and the University of the West of Scotland. Previous Support for Learning Assistant within Glasgow City council supporting SEN pupils through their academic, personal and behavioural needs of school life.I was a junior Rowing coach at Sir William Perkin’s School where I coached young athletes between 13-18 years of age. Prior to that I was involved in coaching rowing for 3 years as well as various other types of physical education, strength & conditioning and sport activity programmes. Throughout my coaching career, I have been successful at leading young athletes to achieve their sporting success as well as mentor their academic goals, health and wellbeing. I have developed my knowledge and experiences of working with young adults and truly believe that I can mentor and guide others to help achieve what sometimes seems impossible.I am a hard working, motivated and enthusiastic individual with a positive and relaxed attitude. I strive when faced with a new challenge. I enjoy working within a team as well as on my own and relish in teaching new skills to young people where I can help them learn and experience new things. In August 2022, I look forward to taking up my offer to study Primary teaching PGDE at the University of West Scotland. I can be contacted via email: rachel_12374@hotmail.com

I helped develop and care for our athletes mental health and well-being by being available when needed for any advice or a conversation, I also kept in contact with the schools safe guarding officers where appropriate. I organised internal and external trips by booking venues and buses and was responsible for any pupil medication on school trips, including international trips e.g. EPI pens. Junior CoachClydesdale Amateur Rowing Club Jun 2014 - Sep 2017GlasgowLead coach of the junior girls squad at Clydesdale Amateur Rowing Club. This involved organising sessions times, boat allocations, writing training progammes, deciding crews and which races to attend. Communication with athletes, parents and other coaches was vital to a successful season and therefore a huge amount of time was committed to that. I gained valuable team working, personal time management and communication skills during this experience. -
