The purpose of the BIG2 programme is to improve the competitive advantage of high growth Cornish Small & Medium Enterprises (SME's), leading to 360 skilled jobs being created. It is aimed at high value add businesses with a strong track record of performance, operating in national/international growth markets with innovative and competitive products and services.My role as Business Adviser was to support the management and compliant delivery of the ESIF-funded BIG2 Programme working in collaboration with and via Growth Hub partners. Providing support to potential applicants to facilitate the application process and to build relationships with those beneficiary businesses to the extent that they continue to self-invest and, where appropriate, work with the business support network beyond the lifetime of the project

As Project Manager for Parkwood Consultancy I was responsible for the efficient management and operation of the PFI contract at Penzance Leisure Center. Ensuring compliance in the provision and monitoring of services are in line with the agreed specifications. • Monitoring visits on site to confirm compliance against projects required standards• Creation and on going operation and management of a contract compliance schedule• Provide quarterly board reports that provide details of projects performance• Chair regular meetings with sub-contractors to monitor performance• Ensuring, through liaison with the finance team that invoices are prepared and submitted to the authority • Liaising with key nominated local authority managers to ensure effective relationships with local authority staff in relation to the delivery of project objectives

As Business Adviser for Peninsula Enterprise I offered fully rounded business support to small and medium-sized businesses across Cornwall. My role was to identify the most innovative and ambitious firms, diagnose strategy to help them fulfil their potential and boost the Cornish economy as a whole. I worked to ensure that all Cornish businesses had straightforward simplified access to the advice and support they need.• Using in depth diagnostics to identify business specific KPI’s and using these as the backbone of the support offered • Reviewing the KPI’s periodically to ensure their continued relevance to business need and growth strategy• Identify businesses at different stages in their lifecycle and offering business support relevant to their needs• Act as a business referral link to other business support agencies responding to client demand and pro actively providing aftercare services to companies to support their continued development and track their progress• Providing companies with support and information on finance, premises and business networking using the well-established links I formed.

Part of a small committed team I helped drive the day to day operations of this Objective 1 funded project to attract Inward Investors into Cornwall as well as the continued marketing of Cornwall as a viable business location.• Manage the response service in respect of inward investment enquiries and to work with potential clients to secure their investment in Cornwall• Prepare high quality presentation material to be used in pitches and presentations to potential inward investors, and key business partners securing input and support from all relevant partner organizations• Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Database, developing mechanisms for recording accurate statistics in respect of project outputs, quality measurement, client satisfaction and producing monthly reports• Actively plan and carry out marketing and PR activities to promote Cornwall as a Business destination, including writing a quarterly magazine and running networking events in various locations throughout the UK
