I am an extremely hard working and ambitious girl, who strives to excel in every task given to me, completing it to the best of my ability. With the knowledge learnt and developed whilst at De Montfort University, I have become a very versatile and well rounded designer/ technician within this niche area of the industry. Using my skills learnt whilst on the course, as well as skills gained whilst on work experience, I am beginning to delve more into the nightwear region of contour and am applying my knowledge on patterns and fit to this separate area.Over the three years whilst at DMU, I have covered a range of skills and areas which have developed my design and technical abilities. These include:CAD skills (Photoshop and Illustrator) - Technical Flats - Mood and Design Boards - Drafting within Illustrator - Technical Packs - Modaris (Pattern Drafting and Grading) - Pattern Drafting (by hand) and Cutting - Pattern Manipulation - Grading - General Sewing skills - Market Research - Design and Trend ResearchWhilst at De Montfort my work has been acknowledged in a variety of ways:After completing a client project, my work was selected to go to the H&M Design Headquarters in Stockholm, where my work was nominated 4th in April 2013.Within a second client project, my 'sticky silicone football socks' idea was nominated to be presented to the company Stretchline UK, where they stated that the idea had recently been introduced and developed at the company - October 2013.My final major collection was selected by a panel of industry and appeared on our catwalk show at Freemason's Hall, Covent Garden - June 2015
