With 20 years experience in multidisciplinary consultancies in NZ. Rachel has a varied design background, with experience in the structural, civil, fire and geotechnical disciplines, specialising in structural engineering, and specifically seismic engineering for the last few years.Rachel has been a Director of RS Eng Ltd since 2015 providing multidisciplinary Consulting Engineering services on residential, commercial and government agencies.In her role as Section Manger Structural Engineering for SKM much of her focus was spent in Project Director, Design Manager or Review roles with respect to alterations to existing buildings, undertaking seismic assessments and educating and consulting with building owners and Loss Adjusters about damage, repair and strengthening options. Rachel is an active member of our learned societies, and has held a position on the Board for the Association of Consulting Engineers NZ (ACENZ), previously holding an area representative role for ACENZ and have been a committee member for Engineering NZ formerly the Institute of Professional Engineers NZ (IPENZ) branch in Northland. She is a member of Engineering NZ, the NZ Society for Earthquake Engineers (NZSEE), the Society for Structural Engineers NZ (SESOC) and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE). Rachel considers it really important for engineers to be abreast of the issues within the industry and take a lead role in supporting the industry and government.
