Lead the Operations team for the nation's second largest state-run online school. NCVPS Operations include the following divisions: Office Staff, Outreach and Support, Professional Learning, and Technology. NCVPS provides equitable access to over 150+ courses to 6-12 NC students enrolled in public, charter, private and home schools.

I provided support for 48 N.C. colleges and universities involved in the preparation of public school personnel. Areas of responsibility included state level program approval process, alignment of state program approval with national accreditation standards (CAEP), state and federal reporting requirements, and implementation of state and federal policies and laws related to educator preparation.

As a Regional Professional Development Lead, I worked with school districts and charter schools in the Sandhills/South Central region of NC as part of the state's Race to the Top grant. I provided leadership and guidance in design, delivery, and evaluation of professional development related to the N.C. Educator Evaluation System, Common Core State Standards, N.C. Essential Standards, 21st Century Instruction, and other topics as needed. I collaborated with a team from across the state to develop and deliver statewide professional development using a blended approach (face-to-face and online).

I was responsible for the administration and delivery of the Science Educator preparation programs (B.S., M.A.T., and M.A.), including, but not limited to: maintaining state and national accreditation, course and program curriculum changes, recruitment of students, advisement of students, supervision of student teachers, teaching, research, grants, and public school outreach.

As a teacher, I served as department chair at two different high schools and taught all high school science courses. Additionally, I served as a mentor for new teachers and was faculty advisor for a Science Olympiad team. As a Science Curriculum Specialist I provided curriculum and instructional support to K-5 schools in the area of science, including delivery of professional development and creation of benchmark assessments and instructional materials.
