cardio-tone is a group of San Francisco fitness studios with locations in the Noe Valley, Mission and SOMA neighborhoods of San Francisco. I founded the company in 2009, expanding to additional locations, with 40+ instructors before selling the company, as a sole owner at the peak of San Francisco's boutique wellness boom. cardio-tone’s core values are the same as my own; constantly improving quality of life through wellness, a deep connection with the neighborhoods, families and local businesses we serve, and the ability to lift, play, and run with my children (and someday their children).

I recruited, developed and managed remote “on the ground” teams as fitmob expanded to 8 markets in 6 months before acquisition by competitor ClassPass. My team launched new markets, balancing supply (fitness studio partners) and demand (individual fitmob subscribers) acquisition and retention, troubleshooting, designing and implementing technology integration, brand and culture.

I worked in the TV news industry as a producer, on air reporter and evening news anchor in the US and UK.

As a college studnet, I worked with a human rights organization which documents human trafficking and lobbies nations and international governing bodies to pass legislation for the protection of trafficked persons. In London and Amsterdam, I collected photo/ interview evidence documenting trafficked women/ children working in the UK and Europe.

As a college student, I studied Thai language, and the economic conditions which lead to, and aftermath of, the 1997 Asian Economic Crisis, at the University of Chiang Mai. I lived among tribal families in the Chiang Rai region of Northern Thailand, bordering (then) Burma, documenting the economic conditions resulting from SE Asia's IMF imposed structural adjustment programs, and their correlation with a sharp rise in indigenous girls being sold into the sex trade.
