During my nearly 3 years at Zendesk, my primary focus was in refreshing the Zendesk brand across all touch points, including digital, film, events, print, and social. My specific contributions to the refreshed brand identity included defining our typography application, layout and color conventions, as well as building out brand guidelines for creative practitioners and the wider company audience. Together, my team and I secured awards from the Registration of Graphic Designers (RGD) and World Brand Design Society as a result of this effort. My specific responsibilities included:- Conceptual development, visual execution and maintenance of foundational brand elements, including typography application, layout conventions, color palette, and our baseline motion and animation templates- Developing and routinely documenting brand guidelines for use by the Creative team and the general company audience, including best practices and do's & dont's- Monitoring application of Zendesk brand elements across social and content assets, providing consultation and creative feedback to external agencies- Stewarding the Zendesk brand to our cross-functional partners; collaborating with systems designers to implement templates and tools to enable asset creation and editing by non-designers- Defining our imagery strategy, developing successful imagery conventions, visual metaphors and unique stylistic approaches to achieve visual distinction- Developing shot lists and shot sketches for creative productions; liaising with company vendors- Providing artistic direction on set to external production partners and team members on set, prop and set styling- Presenting and selling work to Creative leadership, cross-functional stakeholders and executives
