TheStatehouseFile.com is a publication connected to Franklin College's Pulliam School of Journalism where stories are written by students and editors. TheStatehouseFile.com has more than two dozen paid partners who publish our content, including The Indianapolis Star, The Evansville Courier and Press, NUVO, WFYI and WIBC.As executive editor, I led a full-time staff of student reporters at the Indiana Statehouse. Students who participate in TheStatehouseFile.com program typically work 40 hours a week in the newsroom. I assigned stories, guide students through the reporting process and edit their work. I then published the student work and shipped it out to our partners for consideration in their publications.Additionally, I reported on current events, ran the website and served as a liaison with our partners.I took teams of students to both the Republican National Convention and the Democratic National Convention. Students also reported from a presidential debate, a primary debate, four state primaries and dozens of rallies.
