I am a master's student attending school at the University of Central Florida to study communication sciences and disorders. I am currently in my part-time internship with a contract SLP as my supervisor in a private school setting. My responsibilities include administering speech and language therapy targeting expressive/receptive language, cognition, and social communication skills, completing daily SOAP notes, and regularly adjusting treatment plans based on student performance and evolving needs. While practicing in UCF's Communication Disorders Clinic, I have gained experience with working with medically complex children and adults with AAC systems such as from a two-switch head array to using and programming a Neuro Node with a Grid 3 system. I also gained experience by working with adults who have suffered TBIs and strokes and have expressive language impairments as a part of the Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Program (ICAP) in UCF's Aphasia House. Previous work experience includes employment as a registered behavior technician (RBT) where I facilitated applied behavior analysis therapy techniques to children on the autism spectrum in clinic, home, and school settings. I have also worked as an SLS 1501 Peer Mentor for UCF's First Year Experience Office where I guided first-time-college students through their first semester in college and learned the necessary skills of time management, organization, and working within a team.
