I edit and project manage numerous titles across the fiction and non-fiction children's lists, including series and standalone titles. This involves everything from commissioning authors, freelancers, illustrators and designers on content, covers, page layout and design, to negotiating fees and contracts, editing manuscripts and layouts, and generally overseeing titles from concept through to publication.

I currently work on books for 6-16 year olds across a wide spectrum of fiction and non-fiction content. From thrillers, action and adventure and science fiction through to books about bugs, birds, history and science, I do everything from picture editing and proofreading to working with authors on plot and character development, negotiating contracts and coming up with exciting new book and series concepts and ideas. This was an extremely varied and demanding role including researching and conducting interviews, copywriting and sub-editing, plus the coordination, planning and management of large-scale media and live music events. Developing excellent technical, interpersonal and organisational skills, I was also responsible for print and copy proofing, PRS rights management, online sales, and providing both design and administrative support.

Initially producing illustrated post campaign analysis reports for Don't Panic's clients, this role evolved to include commissioning work from journalists and artists, writing and illustrating articles for Don't Panic's online magazine, designing flyers and posters for outside agencies, and production liaison regarding the nationwide/international distribution of all Don't Panic poster and pack artwork.
