  • Unincarcerated Productions
    Chief Executive Officer
Unincarcerated Productions Sep 2023 - Present
I have been volunteering as an advisor with this organization for several years, but have recently stepped into the role of CEO. We've developed a reentry simulation training called Fair Chance that we deploy to organizations seeking to understand folks who are formerly incarcerated and who make up 3% of the US population. Among other objectives, we help participants understand how they might be a more accessible employer for those who have been justice involved to get a job and be supported to keep that job, given some unique challenges. As an organization, we seek to tell the stories of justice involved people and change the public narrative around it. We do this through film, television and podcast productions, as well as through partnerships with nonprofit, corporate and public organizations. In 2024, we have our first in prison podcast production starting, multiple documentaries and TV shows in the works, as well as partnering with several nonprofits in the justice-impacted space to produce their educational video-based content. Please reach out if we might be a good fit to partner with you for your purpose-oriented video production and creative needs.

Defy Ventures is a national program that is about turning prisons into places of redemption and empowerment. We provide a very inspiring year-long leadership program that teaches social and emotional intelligence, as well as business and entrepreneurial skills, to incarcerated individuals who are ready to transform themselves and harness their hustle.
