A PR professional with more than 24 years' experience, I have worked with a wide variety of clients including the NHS, business support agencies, a regional airport, a playground manufacturer, a further education college, bus operators, professional services and various energy suppliers.I've been instrumental in the launch and running of the Kent Press & Broadcasts Awards - an award scheme for the Kent media. As well as building the website (www.kpbawards.co.uk), securing the judges and host, I am largely responsible for obtaining sponsorship, organising the awards ceremony and managing entries. I have been at Maxim a long time because I love the variety that my job offers - not just in terms of the clients I deal with but also the tasks I perform. My skills include: drafting press releases; researching and drafting features; media relations; producing corporate brochures; newsletters; web copy and internal communications; public affairs and reputation management. Being organised (I do like a table, especially if it’s colour coded) has encouraged my love of event management and also planning and implementing marketing campaigns to suit a variety of budgets.Forming successful relationships, whether with clients, journalists or suppliers, is one of the most satisfying parts of my job, particularly when they lead to great results. I still get excited when I generate positive media coverage or a particularly well executed piece of design and print work.I am a social media enthusiast (there’s no such thing as a ‘social media guru’) which is almost a full time job in itself. The world of PR is constantly evolving and my aim is to keep ahead of the game.
