I’m currently with the IFRC Asia Pacific Regional Office Emergency Operations team, ensuring that the right support and funding reaches those that need it the most in a timely, responsible, and accountable manner both through anticipatory actions or as immediate response. I’ve spent the other parts of my 9 year career also developing and leading sustainable community-based projects and programmes alongside organisations such as the UNHCR, UNDP, The Obama Foundation, grassroot NGOs and various governmental ministries in Malaysia. I’ve been privileged to have been be able to contribute towards my personal mission to ensure vulnerable and marginalised communities are supported with community-led solutions using dignified processes, and hope to continue learning on this journey. My experiences include Anticipatory Action and Response emergency operational planning, programme development, project management, fund management, community engagement, needs and impact assessment, participatory shelter and infrastructure planning and building, disaster and emergency response, and capacity building. I have also undergone certified trainings in areas such as preparedness in effective response, anticipatory action, Sphere standards, sustainable development in humanitarian action, and ESG.
