This position was a fun new challenge in my career. It gave me a great full picture view of the recruiting process. I learned the importance of maintaining a wonderful candidate experience and key ways to help get top talent in our stores. -Oversee staffing of 44 retail locations in Nebraska and Iowa-Partner with Store Directors and Human Resource managers to determine staffing needs-Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and applications to determine level of qualifications -Conduct phone and face-to-face interviews with qualified candidates to identify top talent-Follow up with HR managers and candidates throughout interview and placement process-Develop and maintain relationships with area employment agencies, community development organizations, and colleges-Create and deliver presentations to organizations to promote Hy-Vee and our employment options-Represent employer brand at area career fairs to attract qualified candidates -Communicate the company’s structure and benefits to potential candidates -Create job postings as necessary on various sites to increase size of the candidate pool-Utilize sites such as Indeed and LinkedIn to identify and reach out to potential candidates-Assists in development and review of recruitment materials such as flyers, brochures, and career fair banners-Maintain up to date knowledge of Human Resource laws and recruiting trends

After graduating college, this role was my first “real” job. I enjoyed the constant challenges and learning opportunities it presented me. Also, I loved that I was able to interact with people every day on every level!-Tracked the staffing needs of the store and determined hiring needs with input from upper management-Interviewed and selected qualified candidates for hire in all departments-Completed onboarding procedures such as leading orientation and required new hire paperwork-Ensured employees were educated about and followed company and store policies. -Lead employee consultations, discrimination, and harassment claims to determine appropriate plan of action. -Composed and delivered annual employee performance reviews-Facilitated the completion and follow up with worker’s compensation claims-Monitored and maintained store compliance with OSHA regulations-Completed requested unemployment claims with accurate information about incident-Ensured accurate completion of weekly payroll procedures-Maintained accurate electronic information for over 500 employees in the Visual Labor Management System-Responsible for recordkeeping procedures including maintaining physical personnel files and all other documentation-Wrote the schedule for over 100 employees weekly with allotted hours to balance meeting labor goals and staffing needs-Coached department managers in proper HR procedures such as employee reviews, documentation, and consultations -Processed termination paperwork accurately and in a timely manner-Evaluated and rewrote store policies as necessary-Assisted with computer based, courtesy, cashier, and Welcome and Customer Service training programs

-Participated with Upper Management in LEAN methodology with a focus on the recruitment process-Assisted in the design and implementation of PeopleSoft HR Help Desk-Completed tasks related to the TD Ameritrade employment process within the Applicant Tracking System -Input data into the PeopleSoft HCM in an accurate and efficient manner-Coordinated on-boarding process for new hires including paperwork -Consolidated documentation required for over 8,000 employee personal files-Scheduled team meetings, training sessions, and interviews
