• With the aim of championing economically vibrant and globally competitive Infocomm, Media and Design sectors in Singapore, was involved in (1) formulating and reviewing government policies, KPIs, budgets and strategic plans to support sector development; and (2) pursuing MCI/Singapore’s interests through close collaboration with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), divisions within MCI and other agencies• Oversaw the design, implementation, review and expansion of the SMEs Go Digital and Hawkers Go Digital programme, which aims to make digitalisation simple for SMEs• Designed and implemented initiatives to help other sectors/clusters use digital tools and industry partnerships• Worked with IMDA to implement digital tools that are open and interoperable with the global B2B ecosystem, to help businesses engage in cross-border trade. Some initiatives include TradeTrust, e-invoicing and Business sans Borders• Worked with IMDA and MTI to negotiate Digital Economy Agreements with countries such as New Zealand, Chile and Australia to increase Singapore’s digital connectivity with these countries• Conducted industry consultations and developed legislation, Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA), and a set of Codes of Practice to combat the threat of deliberate online falsehoods• Profiled Singapore’s thought leadership in the digital economy by organising the Smart Nation Innovations Week 2019 as the main secretariat. The event welcomed over 15,000 participants from more than 100 countries across the week’s events• Oversaw the development of policies to grow Singapore’s media sector, and nurturing Singapore’s partnerships with media companies• Formulated and reviewed Design-related industry, market and talent development policies, and strategic plans.
