Currently working from an office in Kelowna, BC, focused on numerous projects involving scientific analysis, health & safety, permit applications and government funded research projects.• Coordinate activities and manage current Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP) projects at the SBC site. • Attend required meetings with government agencies to understand funding agency requirements, deliverables and reporting requirements. Coordinate meetings, project completion, and data reporting• Coordinate testing for and submit necessary applications to receive authorization for kiln drying of pallets for production shipments to international sites. Liaise with permitting agencies to understand permit requirements and regulatory compliance.• Design and implement scientific sampling for benchmark and trend analysis in the area of Musculoskeletal injury/incidents on the plant site over an established period• Analyze information gathered and make recommendations for remedies based on position and production needs

Focused primarily in Hydrogeology activities in a variety of locations in British Columbia: North Okanagan, Interior & Lower Mainland• Prepare sampling equipment and materials for the conduct of ground/surface water and ground well drilling & testing activities• Create sediment profiles from ground well drilling activities• Coordinate with lab facilities to ensure timely sample analysis• Prepare a variety of reports, maps and correspondence for clients• Complete field sampling using accurate sampling techniques• Operate motor vehicles to travel to sites, hiking in a variety of terrain to reach ground well sites in remote areas, community and landfill sites

Ensure compliance with Environmental Permits through scheduling and execution of daily, weekly and monthly monitoring activities – Surface Water, Dustfalls, Waste Rock, Ground Water Wells, Stream Flow, Weather Field sample collection and monitoring.• Review Lab Sample Receipt Certificates (SRC) and compare to internal Chain of Custody (COC) to ensure proper documentation of required analyses; troubleshoot any variances • Communicate with laboratory to ensure analysis is coordinated with permit requirements; Troubleshoot sample integrity issues and schedule resampling/reanalysis as needed• Communicate efficiently with warehouse and consultants to ensure time sensitive samples are processed;• Use a variety of sampling equipment such as pygmy meters, piezometer, ground well water pump;• Complete accurate field notes of readings, weather, wildlife, and any environmental anomalies to note.• Maintain inventories of all environmental stock and communicate with Environmental Superintendent of ordering needs; Complete orders on approval.• Prepare sampling kits to ensure efficiency of daily work flow;• Review certificate of analysis from Labs and enter results into a variety of internal monitoring database contained within MS Excel;• Compare lab results to permit and guideline allowable limits noting “exceedances “and report to Environmental Superintendent;

Summer Student: Laborer/ Project Coordinator - Quality Standards ProjectDevelop and implement a European Marketing Standards program which tracked and measured product quality, including moisture content, durability and fines, of company product of wood pellets from a sawdust by-product to meet import standards into European markets.
