Ever since I was young, I've wanted to be an accountant. Just like my neighbor's mom growing up, who would give us kids free ride tickets to the local fair once we ran out. Once I got older, sadly, I discovered not all accountants worked for an amazing town that holds beer & wine festivals twice a year.While obtaining my MS in Accounting at the University of North Texas I completed & started part time work at a public accounting firm. After a couple of busy seasons, I realized public accounting was not the place for me. My husband and I decided to move to North Carolina where I transitioned my accounting career with a software company that collected payments for hospitals & healthcare providers. During this time I was able to obtain my CPA license. A couple of years later, the company had a large managment change and I decided to move onto another company.After 6 years, I can honestly say, this company is always teaching me something new. We deal with accounting for real estate, hospitality, multi-family & a start up software company. I have played a major role in an accounting system change as well as creating & maintaining a pricing calculator for our sales team to use. I have created many high level Excel documents to assist with month-end close, including complex formulas and creating macros. I have led multiple trainings on Excel and NetSuites for new users.
