Throughout my time working as a CVS Retail Management Intern, I was able to do anindependent capstone project where I chose one aspect of the store that needed improvement. Iquickly learned that the store’s biggest flaw was in their Customer FocusedReplenishment(CFR). Therefore, I took it upon myself to learn all about how they track andreplenish their inventory to make the process better. I incorporated a new organization processfor the back room including improvement in their color-coded stocking system. At the end ofmy first week (Week 0), the Grocery CFR Scores were under 65%. By the end of week 5, theGrocery CFR scores were around 95% so I knew the process was working. By week 2, I hadmoved on to the Cosmetic section and saw the same great results by week 6. Each week I tackleda new section and by the end of my internship there was a drastic difference in the total sales. On the last day of my internship I presented my capstone and the implementation techniques I used to achieve my goals to the Arizona District and Region leaders. Although I am no longer an intern I still maintain a good relationship with my internship coach, keep tabs on the continued implementation of my capstone and help out in the store.
