Rachel is a passionate and effective legislative advocate who provides strategic counsel and direct advocacy for nonprofits and coalitions, and currently staffs the California Coalition for Community Investment (a statewide coalition of CDFIs). Her policy and issue areas have included: rural and Tribal issues, safe and affordable drinking water, affordable housing, economic development, fair lending, clean transportation, and clean energy.With over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, Rachel has a proven track record of engaging diverse stakeholders and building coalitions to advance issues to support under represented communities. She helped start the California Coalition for Community Investment in 2019, and helped secure $50 million in the 2022-2023 state budget for community development financial institutions (CDFIs), a program called the California Investment and Innovation Program.She serves as the Board Treasurer for Sacramento Housing Alliance and has a certification from the University of New Hampshire in Community Development Finance and a certificate from the Grantsmanship Center for grant writing.Rachel holds a B.A. in Sociology and a minor in German Language from Sonoma State University, where she graduated with distinction.
