Provide initial assessment and safe care to stabilize patients in a fast-paced 60 bed Level I trauma center.Provide and coordinate evidence based care to patients with life-threatening illnesses including massive trauma, acute myocardial infractions, cerebrovascular accidents, respiratory failure, cardiac arrests, and patients with complex medical processes of varying acuities.Assist with various emergency procedures including cardioversion, transcutaneous pacing, intubation, and emergent thoracotomies.Provide care and maintenance of life sustaining devices including arterial lines, central lines, LVADs, and artificial airways.Administration and titration of critical IV medications including vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, sedation, insulin, and heparin.Communicate and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care is given to patients in a timely manner.Supervise CNAs and serve as a preceptor and mentor to students and new nursing staff.

20 bed Level I trauma and medical intensive care unit and 10 bed COVID-19 unit with 2:1 nurse patient ratios, providing care for various patient populations including septic shock/MODS, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, embolic and hemorrhagic strokes, DKA, ARDS, cardiac and respiratory arrestSkills include Flo Trac use and associated management of cardiac output and systemic vascular resistance, mechanical ventilator management, management of sedative/paralytic, vasoactive, and inotropic infusions, RSI, organ donor management, and invasive lines including Swan Ganz catheters, CVP, and arterial lines Obtained advanced competencies including management of Intra-aortic Balloon Pumps, Impella, CRRT, Swan Ganz reading interpretation and drip management, and pulmonary hypertension trials using RemodulinWork in leadership roles including charge and resource nurse who serves as a support to nurses on the unit during shift including precepting new graduate nurses, responding to rapid responses, staffing for acuity and skills balance, and implementing new protocols and presenting ideas for change
